Well, that wasn't the trip to Green Bay that the Detroit Lions have been used to throughout their history. The Lions went in and flat out dominated. They took the lead in the first quarter and never looked back in their 34-20 win over the Green Bay Packers. Their fourth in a row.

As always, I have thoughts on this game. These are those thoughts:

Four Decades

With this win, Dan Campbell became the first coach in four decades to coach a team to four straight wins over the Green Bay Packers. You want signature wins and signature moments. That's one right there for sure.

20 Yards

Two weeks ago there were a lot of complaints about the Lions defense. Since then, they have been nothing short of elite. They're getting sacks, they're stopping the run, they're knocking down passes and picking them off too. The Lions defense was so dominant that they only allowed 20 total yards of Packers offense in this game.

The Lions defense let up a bit in the second half, but they were still able to get the job done and keep the Packers from getting their second straight comeback win.

Best offensive line in football huh?

It did not look like on Thursday night. The Lions defensive line swarmed Jordan Love early and the team had another multiple sack night. The Lions also were able to hold a team under 100 yards rushing for the fourth week in a row. They held the Packers to just 27 yards on the ground. A very impressive showing from the Lions defensive line.

Goff Report

This is just going to be a part of What Just Happened every week now. Goff threw another interception and then half the fan base wanted him traded for three minutes and then he came back out and played fine for the rest of the game. The lesson here is to not overreact to interceptions. I stand by what I've been saying. Jared Goff is elite. He finished the game with 205 yards, 1 touchdown and the interception.

Hat trick for Montgomery

This guy made an immediate difference with the Lions after being gone for a week. The Lions offense moved well without him, but they moved significantly better with him. They used him perfectly in the second half. He just kept chugging along and taking time off the clock. All told, he had himself a night. He ran for 121 yards and three touchdowns. What a game for a guy that was supposed to

Green Bay police have put out a warrant for Cameron Sutton

Tip Drill Jerry

I'm not talking about something that you might have seen on BET Uncut back in 2004, I'm talking about the Lions hitting the tip drill to help set up Jerry Jacobs for his first interception of the season. For a guy that's been struggling this season, it was nice to see him have a moment in this game. Even though he did get called for his fourth pass interference call this season shortly after.

Jacobs didn't stop there. He went out and got his second interception of the game later on in the night. The best part was it was right after Jacobs gave up a really close contested catch just a couple plays before.

Brian Branch

This kid has to be the early favorite to win the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. He showed again what he can do on Thursdays by adding more pass breakups and getting stops in the run game. He's putting the league notice. A guy you might have heard of before is noticing for sure.

Branch then did his best Willis Reid impression when he went down in the 3rd quarter with what looked like a really bad injury at the time. He needed to be carted off. He then walked back onto the field under his own power and comes back into the game. Branch then went down again late in the fourth quarter. The guys got heart.

Clocks don't matter

The clock is clearly sitting at 0:00 before the snap and the whistle wasn't blown for some reason. This of course allowed the Packers to get a huge chunk play. Sadly this isn't reviewable for some reason and the Lions just have to take it. The NFL's rules are so weird sometimes. Look for this one to get changed before you know it. They just had to run it through the Lions test first.

The officials may have made up for it later in the game when they called an unsportsmanlike conduct call on the Lions field goal in the fourth quarter. That set the Lions up at the goal line and they ran in Montgomery's third touchdown.

Don't spill your beer…purposely on players

This was just not cool. I get that it's not fun to watch your team get scored on, but pouring alcohol on a player is not the way to deal with that. Plus, beers are $9.50 at Lambeau. What are you doing man?

Packers fans pour beer on Amon-Ra St. Brown

Way to stay classy Green Bay Packers fans. Detroit Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown scored a touchdown in the first half of the Lions game against the Packers and Packers fans then proceeded to pour beer all over him in the stands.  I know fans are passionate, but come on. We don't have to do […]
