Anyone that watches the Seattle Seahawks for one second can see that the offense still isn't operating at its full potential.
Most teams take some time to reach that point, which is more than fair considering it is only Week 4, but it is also true that a bit more dominance from this unit should be the general expectation.
There are several questions that get raised each week regarding key plays and some usage numbers, and the biggest question for now is where the Hell has Jaxon Smith-Njigba been?
Yes, we all know that Seattle wants to throw the football and that it does already have two very talented wide receivers to play the one and two role. Still, four touchdowns through the air during the first three weeks is a little disappointing.
Seattle is currently right in the middle of the pack for passing touchdowns on the year, but isn't it fair to expect to see them on pair with the other talented passing teams? The Patriots, Raiders, and Broncos have no business behind ahead of Seattle.
So, where has Jaxon Smith-Njigba been?
It isn't like Seattle hasn't used its other wide receivers thus far. Jake Bobo has a touchdown. That alone speaks for itself.
In truth, it seems like JSN is being used for a fraction of his talent-often for short passes that are merely safe rather than actually trying to push the defense.
That conservative use of JSN isn't helping. Conservative offenses aren't the king of the NFL any longer. If Seattle simply let JSN do what he did in college, the Seahawks offense would move into that upper echelon of offenses.
Nine receptions for 57 yards and no touchdowns isn't what Seattle spent a first-round pick on. They need to try to get a return on their investment.
If they don't the offense will still be good, but it will beg plenty of questions about why Seattle would spend such a pick on a player that they don't actually use to the best of their ability.
Get Jaxon Smith-Njigba more involved. It only helps.
