The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won their third-straight game over the New Orleans Saints for the first time in franchise history, but it came with a cost in star wideout Mike Evans.

Evans left the game in the first half with a hamstring injury and did not return. Fortunately, the other receivers stepped up in big ways. Especially Chris Godwin, who finished the day with a team-high eight receptions and 114 receiving yards.

"He's just tweaked it right now, we'll see how serious it is or isn't when we get out of here," said Bowles. "We'll run some more tests on it, but I thought the guys came in and stepped up."

Evans was having a big game, too. Sure, his final stat line read three receptions for 40-yards, but two of those receptions were first down receptions and he also drew a pivotal DPI flag on another drive. There's certainly a world where Evans could've had a monster day.

But now, it's all about the future. If Evans misses time, yes, the Bucs still have Godwin, but the rest of their receiving corps is light-handed. Dave Canales' offense can certainly scheme these guys open, but it's definitely a different looking room without Evans and Russell Gage, who was placed on IR earlier in the year.

It certainly helps the Bucs are heading into their bye week. The extra week of rest should help, but as we all know, nothing is guaranteed with hamstring injuries. Either way, only time will tell what happens next.
