And while that may have a harmful effect on multiple players, there are few players breathing a sigh of relief after yesterday.
Here they are:
Levi Wallace
Wallace is safe despite some conjecture that Pittsburgh may look to add at the cornerback position.
Joey Porter Jr. was officially named starter earlier this week so maybe Wallace wishes he was elsewhere, but I believe the vet will stay and have a role in the secondary and won't have to leave town, making him a winner in my book.
Connor Heyward
With Pat Freiermuth on injured reserve and rookie tight end Darnell Washington still having a lot of work to do, Heyward has become the team's best pass-catching option at tight end.
That will continue to be the case after no additional tight-end help was added.
Damontae Kazee/Keanu Neal
There was a chance that following the injury to Minkah Fitzpatrick, and with a few names floating in the safety market, Pittsburgh could have made a move to add outside help. But they didn't, signaling a confidence in both Kazee and Neal.
