Following an egregious hit on Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr., the NFL handed out a season-ending suspension for Pittsburgh Steelers safety Damontae Kazee.

But per his agent, Kazee and his representation hoped that an appeal would lessen the punishment, and put the $200k he is slated to lose back in his pocket.

Unfortantely for him and the Steelers, Kazee has not only played what's likely to be his last snap of the season but potentially of his tenure in Pittsburgh:

Kazee's Suspension Upheld

Seieng as Kazee was a repeat offender dating back to 2018 and his time with the Atlanta Falcons, there was a sense around the league that the NFL's league office would look to make an example out of Kazee following his latest violation:

The 30 year old DB re-upped on a two-year deal this offseason, tying him to Pittsburgh through the end of next season.

But when analyzing the details in Kazee's contract, you can see how Pittsburgh may opt to move on from the veteran come season's end.

His guaranteed money is already paid, and he would clear $3m in cap savings while only costing $875k in dead money via a prorated bonus.

So it's unclear what the future holds for Kazee, but the upholding of his suspension only clouds a dark situation in Pittsburgh.
