The Indianapolis Colts (8-6) are preparing to travel for their final road game of the regular season against the Atlanta Falcons (6-8).
Multiple key players' statuses seem to be progressing in the right direction, but Friday's practice will hopefully give legitimate answers.
Michael Pittman Jr. has quickly progressed through the NFL's concussion protocol. He had his full-contact practice on Thursday, which means he is in the final step of protocol, which is to be cleared by a medical professional. The status (or lack thereof) the team gives Pittman Jr. for Sunday's game will be important to monitor today.
Friday Injury Report:
Out:
- Braden Smith
- Segun Olubi
The Colts will be without starting RT Braden Smith and LB Segun Olubi for their Week 16 with the Falcons. This will give rookie Blake Freeland his ninth start of the year.
Questionable:
- Zack Moss
- Michael Pittman Jr.
While Michael Pittman Jr. has officially cleared concussion protocol, he still holds a questionable status due to a shoulder injury he is also dealing with. Via how Pittman Jr. and Shane Steichen sounded, though, I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't a go for this week. Zack Moss, on the other hand, hasn't practiced at all this week and will likely miss this game. This sets up Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson to backup Jonathan Taylor, who officially holds no injury designation and is set to return to the field after missing the last three weeks with a thumb injury.
No designation:
- Matt Gay
- Eric Johnson II
- Jonathan Taylor
- DeForest Buckner
Should the Colts be concerned about Matt Gay’s recent struggles?
The Colts may have a kicker problem on their hands after the recent struggles from Matt Gay.
