We are less than two weeks out from the 2024 NFL Draft, and there is more smoke than ever for us to sift through when making predictive mock drafts.

In addition to finding out where the top prospects could land, multiple talented NFL players could be traded away on draft day, as we've seen repeatedly over the years.

And it seems like if there will be a blockbuster deal involving a veteran player this year, San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk could be the most likely option. So before my mock draft even begins, I start with a trade between the 49ers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Pre-Draft Trade:
49ers send: Brandon Aiyuk

Steelers send: Pick 20

Rumors ran wild over the weekend about the possibility that Brandon Aiyuk allegedly requested a trade. Since then, his agent and multiple NFL insiders have shot down said report, but the 49ers and Aiyuk have not yet been able to come to terms on a contract extension. And if that remains true as the draft gets closer, I think a pre-draft trade to allow the 49ers some flexibility on draft day to land a replacement at WR would make a lot of sense. I considered three teams for this trade: the Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Buffalo Bills. But in the end, I think the Steelers make the most sense on paper.

3 Round 2024 NFL Mock Draft:

Round 1:

1. Chicago Bears via Panthers
Caleb Williams, QB, USC

After choosing to trade away the top pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bears made their plans this year clear by trading Justin Fields to the Steelers this offseason. They will selecting a QB with the number one overall pick this season, and all signs point towards it being USC's Caleb Williams.

2. Washington Commanders
Drake Maye, QB, North Carolina

There are no changes for me through the top two picks from my previous mock drafts. I have the Commanders taking North Carolina QB Drake Maye. I understand that LSU's Jayden Daniels is the betting favorite for this selection, and Maye is rumored to be a player who could potentially fall. But I remember C.J. Stroud being painted in the same light last draft cycle, just for him to go on to be the number two overall pick to the Houston Texans. I think Maye is a drastically better prospect than Daniels and Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, and I believe the Commanders end up taking Maye.

TRADE:
Patriots send: Pick 3

Vikings send: Picks 11, 23, and a 2025 1st

3. Minnesota Vikings Via Patriots
Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

Here's the first big change from my previous mock drafts. While the player remains the same, I have the Patriots trading out of the pick three with the Vikings to land three first-round picks to drop back eight spots. It's no secret that the Vikings would love to land a top rookie QB in this class, and while typically, I've had them trade up for McCarthy with Daniels on the board, I think they add the reigning Heisman winner to their offense to work with fellow former LSU player and now All-Pro WR Justin Jefferson.

4. Arizona Cardinals
Marvin Harrison Jr., WR, Ohio State

With the Vikings moving up to three, I have the Cardinals staying put and landing my top player in this draft in Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. The Cardinals lost Hollywood Brown in free agency to the Chiefs, and they need a new top target for Kyler Murray, who is set to enter Week 1 healthy after battling back from an injury last season.

5. Los Angeles Chargers
Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

The Chargers are always one of the toughest spots due to them having so different directions they can go with this pick. That reason usually leads to me having them trade back. But with the Vikings already making their move, I don't think anyone else is going to make an aggressive enough offer that also allows the Chargers to own a premium pick near the top of the first round to justify moving the pick. I was between Malik Nabers and Joe Alt, but their WR room at the moment needs a dynamic player like Nabers in the worst way. And I think Nabers and Justin Herbert would be an incredible duo for the beginning of the Jim Harbaugh era in Los Angeles.

6. New York Giants
Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

Many may have the Giants select Michigan QB J.J. McCarty with this pick, and I considered that path, but in the end, the Giants roster needs day-one contributors. And with no clear way out of Daniel Jones's contract, I don't see them just paying him his lucrative deal to be their backup for the next season or two by drafting McCarthy. Instead, I have them drafting Notre Dame's Joe Alt, who will help raise the floor of the Giants' offense and ultimately help keep Jones healthy to replicate his strong season in 2022 potentially.

TRADE:
Titans send: Pick 7

Patriots send: Pick 11, 68 (3rd), 137 (5th) and a 2025 3rd

With the two most popular mock draft choices for the Titans off the board here (Nabers & Alt), there are a few players left that I think could make sense here. This is the perfect reason to trade back, and luckily for the Titans, J.J. McCarthy is still on the board, so there should be a few teams interested. I think the Titans could probably get more draft capital if they are willing to drop much further in the 1st round, but instead, I have them recouping the two thrids they traded away for Will Levis (last draft) and L'Jarius Sneed (this offseason) as well as a 5th rounder this year to just drop four spots with the Patriots.

7. New England Patriots via Titans
J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan

I know a lot of Patriots fans may have clicked off the article as soon as they saw their team traded back, but for those of you still here, they land their QB after all. Michigan's J.J. McCarthy is viewed by many to hear his name called inside the top five picks, but here, the Patriots were able to land a massive haul to move back from three and then took a card out of the Cardinals playbook last season by trading back up for a player they view highly. McCarthy has some risk (so does every prospect, especially QBs), but his upside at 20 years old is a perfect fit for the new-look Patriots, who finally entering a rebuild that should have started multiple years ago in my opinion.

8. Atlanta Falcons

Dallas Turner, Edge, Alabama

This is one of the easiest picks for me in the entire 1st round. I think Dallas Turner is the top-edge prospect in this class by a healthy margin, and the Falcons benefit from the top seven picks, all being offensive players. Turner was productive at Alabama, but his unreal length and athleticism have his ceiling among the highest of any player in this draft class at any position.

9. Chicago Bears
Jer'Zhan "Johnny" Newton, DT, Illinois

Alot of people would go WR here, but I think a DT like Johnny Newton is the perfect addition to Bears head coach Matt Eberflus's defense. With the addition of Montez Sweat the Bears are hoping to see a drastic jump from their defense this season, and adding Newton would help take pressure off Sweat and raise the potential of this defense as a whole.

10. New York Jets
Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

If the board falls this way, I think the Jets would feel very lucky. They'd have their choice of two of the top pass catchers in the entire class with Washington WR Rome Odunze and Georgia TE Brock Bowers both on the board. I think both would be great options, but I have Odunze as my WR 2 in this class, and I think he would be a great complement opposite of Garett Wilson to form one of the best young WR duos in the NFL. And while they signed Mike Williams this offseason, he is only on a one year deal, so I don't think he should deter the Jets from adding a WR of Odunze's caliber.

11. Tennessee Titans via Patriots/Vikings
Olumuyiwa Fashanu, OT, Penn State

After trading back, the Titans didn't see a single offensive lineman go off the board between their original pick and now. Picking which tackle for them was honestly between five players. But in the end, I think Olumuyiwa Fashanu, out of Penn State's next-level potential as a pass protector paired with his past relationship with QB Will Levis, swung things in his favor here.

TRADE
Broncos send: Pick 12

Packers send: Pick 25, 41 (2nd), and 126 (4th)

This is an aggressive trade-up by the Green Bay Packers, who have an abundance of picks and not a ton of holes on their roster. They find the perfect trade partner in the Denver Broncos, who need more premium picks. The Broncos drop 13 spots but pick up a second and a fourth in this year's class.

12. Green Bay Packers via Broncos
Byron Murphy II, DT, Texas

After trading up, I have the Packers taking Texas DT Byron Murphy II. Murphy II graded out as my top DT in this class and one of the top defensive players overall. The Packers are going to have to make a decision on Kenny Clark, who wants a new contract. Murphy II can play beside him to form a great duo on the interior of the Packer's defensive line. But if they can't come to terms on a new deal for Clark, this move also softens the blow of losing a player of his caliber.

13. Las Vegas Raiders
Taliese Fuaga, OT/G, Oregon State

The Raiders likely have an interest in moving up for one of the top QBs, but after not being able to land a deal in this mock, I have them taking Oregon State's Taliese Fuaga. Fuaga has the flexibility to play either tackle or guard at the NFL level, and the Raiders need more difference-makers on the offensive line.

14. New Orleans Saints
Brock Bowers, TE, Georiga

The Saints may not have landed one of the top WRs in this draft class to pair with Chris Olave, but the next best thing is an elite TE prospect like Georiga's Brock Bowers. We talk about TEs being a security blanket for a young QB, but with the Saints, I think Bowers can help get the most out of veteran Derek Carr, who is locked in as the Saints starting QB for at least this season.

TRADE:
Colts send: Pick 15 and 191 (6th)
49ers send: Pick 20, 94 (3rd), and 135 (4th)

The Colts have multiple of their best fits in the draft still on the board here, so I could see GM Chris Ballard trying to land an extra day two pick out of the 49ers, who, earlier in this mock draft, traded away WR Aiyuk to the Steelers.

15. San Francisco 49ers via Colts
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, LSU

After trading Aiyuk away (in this mock), I have the 49ers moving up to select LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. I think the 49ers could potentially package their firsts to get higher than 15 to possibly land one of the top three WRs in this class, but here they keep more of their draft capital to fill the few needs on their roster as they attempt to continue to be one of the best rosters in the NFL. And I think Thomas Jr.'s vertical threat ability is a solid fit with Deebo Samuel who does a lot of his work after the catch in the middle of the field.

16. Seattle Seahawks
Laiatu Latu, Edge, UCLA

While I have Dallas Turner as my top edge rusher, It's easy to see why some view UCLA's Laiatu Latu as a candidate for that spot as well. Latu's bag of pass-rush moves is as deep as you will see a rookie edge rusher have. But the medical concerns, as well as him set to turn 24 during his rookie season, has him fall to the Seahawks here, who would gladly welcome a pass rusher of his caliber.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars
Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

With four WRs already off the board, I have the Jaguars taking my top CB in this year's draft Alabama CB Terrion Arnold. The Jaguars added to their secondary this offseason but a player like Arnold with legit lockdown CB 1 potential could take their defense to a whole new level. And with the AFC South having offenses led by three exciting second year QBs, they need solid play from their CB room.

18. Cincinnati Bengals
JC Latham, OT, Alabama

The Bengals signed Trent Brown to start opposite Orlando Brown at tackle, but that hasn't stopped anyone from mocking tackles to them with this pick. JC Latham is a player that I think could slide into guard if needed early. in his career, but the plan with this pick would be for Latham to be the long-term answer at either RT or LT.

19. Los Angeles Rams
Jared Verse, Edge, Florida State

If one of the top three edge rushers are available when the Rams are on the clock I think it makes too much sense to pass on them. Of that top group, I think Florida State's Jared Verse has the best chance of being there. And with them losing the anchor of their defense, Aaron Donald, to retirement, Verse's play strength off the edge would be a great fit.

20. Indianapolis Colts via 49ers/Steelers
Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

After trading back, the Colts have multiple talented WRs and CBs to consider here, but I went with Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell. Mitchel's next-level speed and coverage ability pair incredibly well with Juju Brents to form the team's starting CB duo for the foreseeable future.

21. Miami Dolphins
Troy Fautanu, OT/G, Washington

Troy Fautanu is a unique player who I think can successfully play at either tackle or guard no matter the system, just a special player. For the Dolphins, Fautanu probably plays guard as a rookie, but with Terron Armstead's long-term future in question, this pick solidifies their LT of the future while also filling another spot of need in the short term.

22. Philadelphia Eagles
Cooper DeJean, CB, Iowa

Iowa DB Cooper DeJean is one of the most polarizing players in this year's class among fans. But nearly every NFL rep I've spoken to is high on his game. The versatile defensive back has the ability to play all over the secondary, and his elite atheism is going to allow NFL defenses to use him as a Swiss army knife-type defender. With the Eagles, I think he would line up in the slot as a CB early on, but an occasional formation that has DeJean and C.J. Gardner-Johnson at safety together would be a ton of fun.

23. New England Patriots via Vikings/Texans/Browns
Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas

After trading back from three, the Patriots landed J.J. McCarthy, and with their second first from the Vikings, they landed a potential top weapon for their new QB in Texas WR Adonai Mitchell. A special athlete at the WR position, standing at 6'2", would help get this new-look Patriots offense started off in an exciting fashion.

24. Dallas Cowboys
Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

The Cowboys have been one of the quietest teams this offseason, and some fans may not be excited by an offensive tackle being their first-round pick. But a year ago, Amarius Mims was projected to be a top-five selection in the draft, but after missing time with an injury, his stock took a hit. His talent is undeniable and if the Cowboys landed him here, he could go on to be one of the biggest steals in the first round.

25. Denver Broncos via Packers
Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

The Broncos traded back 13 spots but still landed a player who, at one point, was the consensus top CB in this class, Nate Wiggins, out of Clemson. Wiggins is an incredible athlete at the CB position, but his slender build worries some about his ability to take on the responsibility of other team's top options. For the Broncos, though, he wouldn't have to with them having one of the best CBs in the NFL already on the roster in Patrick Surtain II.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB, Alabama

The Buccaneers moved off starting CB Carlton Davis this offseason by trading him to the Detroit Lions. With four CBs already off the board I have the Buccaneers grabbing the last CB that I have a first-round grade on in this class, Kool-Aid McKinstry.

27. Arizona Cardinals via Houston Texans
Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon

With their first 1st round pick the Cardinals grabbed a weapon in Marvin Harrison Jr. for Kyler Murray. And with their second, I have them adding needed protection for Murray with the top center in this year's class, Jackson Powers-Johnson, out of Oregon.

28. Buffalo Bills
Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

The Bills shocked the NFL world by trading away Stefon Diggs, and now their WR room sits near the bottom of the league. While many would have liked to see the Bills trade up for a bigger target I have them taking one of the best route runners in this class in Ladd McConkey. Josh Allen helped Cole Beasley earn a 2nd team All-Pro in 2020. Imagine what he could do with a player like Ladd who I think is a much more well rounded player than Beasley.

29. Detroit Lions
Graham Barton, G/OT, Duke

Some teams may not be willing to draft a guard in the 1st round, but Lions GM Brad Holmes has shown time and time again that they will take the best player on their board no matter the position. Duke's Graham Barton has the ability to compete at tackle and guard, but I think his best spot at the NFL level will be at guard. Which is where he'd have the best shot at playing early in his career if he landed with the Lions.

30. Baltimore Ravens
Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State

Chop Robinson is an athletic freak who many believe has one of the highest ceilings of any edge rusher in this year's class. The Ravens have been known to put players in positions to utilize their full skill sets, which will be a major need for Robinson, who needs some polishing as a pass rusher before he can come anywhere close to the ceiling people envision for him.

TRADE:
49ers send: Pick 31

Raiders send: Pick 44 (2nd), 148 (5th), and a 2025 2nd

31. Las Vegas Raiders via 49ers
Michael Penix Jr., QB, Washington

The Raiders might not have landed a QB earlier, but I have them trading up for Washington's Michael Penix Jr. Penix Jr.'s ability to push the ball down the field is evident on tape. But where he needs to improve is his mechanics are very shaky, and his anticipation in the pocket needs to be coached up. I think sitting behind a savvy veteran like Gardner Minshew to start next season would be very beneficial.

32. Kansas City Chiefs
Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon

The Chiefs WR situation could be even worse next season with Rashee Rice's legal situation still very much in the air. So, if you didn't think a WR was the pick here before, I think it has to be now. A player I like for the Chiefs is Oregon's Troy Franklin. Franklin has great speed and is comfortable attacking defenses vertically. I think he would be a solid fit with Hollywood Brown, and it would allow both to play multiple roles instead of being pigeon holed into the deep threat role. I also think a reliable deep threat is something the Chiefs have been missing since trading away Tyreek Hill.

Round 2:

TRADE:
Panthers send: Pick 33

Broncos send: Pick 41, 121 (4th) and a 2025 3rd

33. Denver Broncos via Panthers
Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

After loading up with some extra picks, the Broncos move up to grab Oregon QB Bo Nix, who fell out of round one. The Broncos are currently projected to start Jarett Stidham, and I don't see how they go into the season with that still being the case. Nix's experience at Auburn and Oregon should help him play earlier than the typical day-two QB selection and he has solid traits that Sean Payton would love to work with.

34. New England Patriots
Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

35. Arizona Cardinals
Darius Robinson, DT/Edge, Missouri

36. Washington Commanders
Jordan Morgan, OT, Arizona

TRADE:
Chargers send: Pick 37

Colts send: Pick 46, 117 (4th), and a 2024 4th

37. Indianapolis Colts via Chargers
Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

Another team that traded back in the 1st round moves up here after landing some extra capital. The Colts need more speed and big play ability on offense, and Texas WR Xavier Worthy fits that bill perfectly. His slender build will take him off some team boards, which is why I have him falling into round two here. But the Colts have done extensive work on him during this process and they've shown they are willing to trade up for players on day two.

38. Tennessee Titans
Marshawn Kneeland, Western Michigan

39. Carolina Panthers via Giants
Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina

After trading back, the Panther's first pick of the draft comes at 39, but they landed a high-upside WR in South Carolina's Xavier Legette. Legette is getting some love around the league as a potential 1st round pick. His combination of speed, size, and strength is going to have him high on multiple team's boards. And after last year's disaster, they have to give Bryce Young more weapons for next season.

40. Washington Commanders via Bears
Keon Coleman, WR, Florida State

41. Carolina Panthers via Broncos/Packers/Jets
Zach Frazier, C, West Virginia

42. Houston Texans via Vikings
Mike Sainristil, CB, Michigan

The Texans also had to wait a while for their first pick, but they landed my top slot CB in this year's class in Michigan's Mike Sainristil. The more I watch Sainristil, the more I like him as a prospect. And after the Texans busy offseason this is one of the few holes left on a talented roster.

43. Atlanta Falcons
Payton Wilson, LB, North Carolina State

44. San Francsico 49ers via Raiders
Roger Rosengarten, OT, Washington

45. New Orleans Saints via Broncos
Michael Hall Jr., DT, Ohio State

46. Los Angeles Chargers via Colts
Junior Colson, LB, Michigan

47. New York Giants via Seahawks
Ja'Lynn Polk, WR, Washington

48. Jacksonville Jaguars
Christain Haynes, G, UConn

49. Cincinnati Bengals
Braden Fiske, DT, Florida State

50. Philadelphia Eagles via Saints
Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

51. Pittsburgh Steelers
Kingsley Suamataia, OT, BYU

52. Los Angeles Rams
Andru Phillips, CB, Kentucky

53. Philadelphia Eagles
Ricky Pearsall, WR, Florida

54. Cleveland Browns
Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

55. Miami Dolphins
Malachi Corley, WR, Western Michigan

I've been on record saying I'm lower on Malachi Corely than most. The reason isn't because of his skill though, but due to the ideal role I believe he needs to play and how hard it has been for teams to scheme players into it. Since Deebo Samuel's breakout, multiple teams have tried to replicate his unique role, and each has failed. The reason I like his fit with the Dolphins, though, is that Mike McDaniel was in San Francisco with Sameul and is probably the best suited to help Corely reach his potential.

56. Dallas Cowboys
Cooper Beebe, G, Kansas State

57. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Chris Braswell, Edge, Alabama

58. Green Bay Packers
Javon Bullard, S, Georgia

59. Houston Texans
Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

60. Buffalo Bills
Jaden Hicks, S, Washington State

61. Detroit Lions
Ennis Rakestraw Jr., Missouri

62. Baltimore Ravens
Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale

63. San Francisco 49ers
TJ Tampa, CB, Iowa State

64. Kansas City Chiefs
DeWayne Carter, Duke

Round 3:

65. Carolina Panthers:
Adisa Isaac, Edge, Penn State

66. Arizona Cardinals
Max Melton, CB, Rutgers

67. Washington Commanders
Jonah Elliss, Edge, Utah

68. Tennessee Titans via Patriots
Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington

69. Los Angeles Chargers
Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas

70. New York Giants
Spencer Rattler, QB, South Carolina

71. Arizona Cardinals via Titans
Bralen Trice, Edge, Washington

72. New York Jets
Patrick Paul, OT, Houston

73. Detroit Lions via Vikings
Austin Booker, Edge, Kansas

74. Atlanta Falcons
Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon

75. Chicago Bears
Devontez Walker, WR, North Carolina

76. Denver Broncos
Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama

77. Las Vegas Raiders
T'Vondre Sweat, DT, Texas

78. Washington Commanders via Seahawks
Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame

79. Atlanta Falcons via Jaguars
Ruke Orhorhoro, DT, Clemson

80. Cincinnati Bengals
Roman Wilson, WR, Michigan

81. Seattle Seahawks via Saints
Christian Mahogany, G, Boston College

82. Indianapolis Colts
Calen Bullock, S, USC

83. Los Angeles Rams
Matt Goncalves, OT, Pittsburgh

84. Pittsburgh Steelers
Beaux Limmer, C, Arkansas

85. Cleveland Browns
Brandon Dorlus, DT, Oregon

86. Houston Texans via Eagles
Jeremiah Trotter, LB, Clemson

87. Dallas Cowboys
Trey Benson, RB, Florida State

88. Green Bay Packers
Blake Fisher, OT, Notre Dame

89. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georiga

90. Arizona Cardinals via Texans
Dominick Puni, G/OT, Kansas

91. Green Bay Packers via Bills
Renardo Green, CB, Florida State

92. Tampa Bay Buccaneers via Lions
Ja'Tavion Sanders, TE, Texas

93. Baltimore Ravens
Brenden Rice, WR, USC

94. Indianapolis Colts via 49ers
Mason McCormick, G, South Dakota State

95. Kansas City Chiefs
Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georiga

96. Jacksonville Jaguars
Javon Baker, WR, UCF

97. Cincinnati Bengals
Braelon Allen, RB, Wisconsin

98. Pittsburgh Steelers via Eagles
D.J. James, CB, Auburn

 TRADE:
Rams send: Pick 99
