It seems that anytime the Indianapolis Colts are mentioned in the national media, it's because of their controversial decision to bench Anthony Richardson

Some have taken the time to bash Richardson's ability to play QB. But not ESPN's Louis Riddick, who has had the opportunity to interview for multiple front-office jobs over the past few years, including some interviews to become an NFL general manager.

Instead, he spoke about how much of a believer he still is in Richardson.

Being a national television sports analyst, Riddick is paid to give his analysis and opinions on the sports he covers. He is also someone who knows the game of football well and is respected in NFL circles. Before covering the sport on TV, he worked in the NFL for years.

He was a pro scout for the Washington Commanders (at the time known as the Redskins) from 2001 to 2004. They promoted him to director of pro personnel in 2005, and he worked in that role till 2007. In 2008, he moved on from the Commanders and took a job as a pro scout and assistant director of pro personnel for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009. He was promoted again to be the director of pro personnel, this time by the Eagles in 2010, and he stayed in that role until 2013.

He interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers' open GM job in 2022 but was not chosen. He also interviewed for the Detroit Lions' GM job in 2020 but was not chosen. Many expect him to be a candidate for multiple teams if they decide to move from their current GM in the coming years. From his words about Richardson and his actions on his personal social media account, it looks like the Colts job would be of high interest to Riddick if it opened up.
