For the third consecutive week, we're here to tell you that cornerback Jaire Alexander has started the preparation for the following game of the Green Bay Packers on the practice field. He is listed as a full participant. In the previous two weeks, though, he ended up not playing against the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks.

"Based on what I saw the past couple days, I didn't feel he was ready to play," head coach Matt LaFleur said last Friday, ahead of the Seahawks game. "There are certain requirements to get out there and go play, certain speeds and whatnot. When you're not hitting them, you're not ready to play."

So these requirements are the key for the Packers to see if Jaire will be available or not on Monday night. On his bi-weekly podcast, LaFleur said he does expect Alexander back sooner rather than later. At the same time, as Green Bay is close to clinching a playoff spot, it might make sense to limit his volume over the next few weeks.

Jaire Alexander has played seven games, including the one against the Chicago Bears where he was barely on the field, and missed seven other games this season.

Absences

With Jaire Alexander at practice, only two players on the 53-man roster were not available on Thursday. Safety Javon Bullard and linebacker Quay Walker, both handling ankle injuries, will be listed as did not practice.

The forecast indicates snow on Monday night, so the Packers took advantage of a snowy day in Green Bay to practice in game-like conditions.

As the game is on Monday, the Packers didn't have to release an injury report on Wednesday. Everything is delayed by a day, so Green Bay will have injury reports on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, when they also release the injury designations. Potential practice squad elevations happen on Monday afternoon.
