The Kansas City Chiefs practice outdoors at Missouri Western State University during training camp.
However, if lightening is in the area, they are forced to move indoors. That could be the case for Friday, July 25th's practice as storms move into the area on Thursday night and are expected to hang around into Friday morning.
Meteorologist Jacob Lanier of Fox 4 News Kansas City told our own Charles Goldman that it will definitely be wet and muddy at camp tomorrow, but it's possible a dry spell allows the Chiefs to sneak in their scheduled practice from 9:15 A.M. to approximately 11 A.M.
The Chiefs will practice in light rain, but will likely move indoors during a heavy downpour. As mentioned above, lightening is automatic grounds for going inside. If that happens, fans are not allowed to view indoor practice and must leave. Media members are permitted to watch, but aren't allowed to share their observations live.
The Chiefs will wait as long as possible to make a decision as they try to honor fans who plan to attend. If you're among those, be sure to bring umbrellas, hats, and other accessories, because there aren't many places to take shelter from the rain. You can follow myself (@Nicolas_Roesch) and Charles Goldman (@goldmctNFL), or other members of the Kansas City media on X for potential cancelation updates.
