On3’s JD Pickell recently predicted the result of each game on the Tennessee Vols’ 2025 schedule.

And Pickell has the Volunteers ending a losing streak that dates back to 2003.

But unfortunately for Tennessee, Pickell doesn’t have the Vols winning 10 regular season games this fall.

Pickell predicted that Tennessee will go 9-3 during the regular season with losses to the Georgia Bulldogs, the Alabama Crimson Tide, and the Oklahoma Sooners. That means Pickell has Tennessee beating the Florida Gators in Gainesville for the first time since 2003.

The Vols will probably need to win 10 regular season games in 2025 to reach the College Football Playoff for a second straight season. They basically need to win one out of three against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, while taking care of business in their other nine games, to return to the playoff.

By the way, it’s interesting that Pickell has the Vols losing to the Sooners at home. Tennessee has only lost one game in Knoxville since 2021 (against Georgia in 2023). A loss to OU in Neyland Stadium this season would likely keep the Vols out of the playoff (unless Tennessee wins two out of three against Alabama, Florida, and Georgia).
