Weiss (Tex.) wide receiver Tre Moore sat down with Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman this week to discuss his recruitment. The conversation quickly began to focus on one program: the Texas Longhorns.

“The push from Texas has been going well. My relationships with the staff have been growing as well,” Moore said. “I’ve met Coach Sark and we’ve talked a bit. I talked with Coach (Chris) Jackson throughout the summer, and he’s shared with me his thoughts about me as a player and how I can continue to grow, which I appreciate. Even in the spring, he came out to my practice to watch — and that was cool.”

The 6-foot-3, 200 pound prospect is a Top 100 recruit, per Rivals rankings. He is the No. 19 wide receiver in the 2027 class and the 15th-ranked junior in Texas. Last season, Moore finished with 40 receptions for 562 yards and seven touchdowns.

There’s still a long ways to go in this recruitment, but Texas has Tre Moore’s attention early.

“Coach Sark and his staff have done a great job putting Texas back on the map. Looking at their track record over the last few years developing some great wide receivers — and even the ones they have on the team now have been really cool,” Moore said.

Texas has all of a sudden developed quite the rolodex for NFL wide receivers. AD Mitchell, Xavier Worth, and Matthew Golden have all recently been selected and it looks like DeAndre Moore and Ryan Wingo are sure to follow suit.

Moore says the Texas staff has kept the phone lines hot since June.

“Texas has been in constant communication with me and are showing me how much they want me,” Moore noted. “They have a vision and a plan to build a championship culture.”

247Sports’ Jordan Scruggs has high hopes for Tre Moore.

“(Moore) gotten noticeably bigger this offseason,” Scruggs said. “Played a mix of JV/Varsity ball for the Wolves last season but will have a legitimate chance to be the biggest prospect to ever come out of Weiss when it’s all said and done.”

Scruggs also spoke with Moore earlier this year about what he expects from the Texas Longhorns in 2025 and which game he wants to attend.

“I’m expecting big things. I’m expecting a National Championship out of them. I believe they can do it, we just gotta see what’s gonna happen,” Moore said. “Texas vs. Texas A&M. That’s the one that I’ve been wanting to go to.”
