OnTexasFootball is reporting Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Andre Cojoe suffered a season-ending knee injury over the weekend. Another source at Orangebloods is reporting it is feared he tore both his ACL and MCL.

Cojoe was slated to compete for the right tackle spot on the Texas offensive line – a group replacing four starters from last year’s CFP semifinal team.

The 6-foot-6, 360 pound offensive tackle from Grand Prairie (Tex.) redshirted in 2024 after appearing in just four games. This now gives way to Brandon Baker locking up the right tackle position after most speculating the two would be in a neck-and-neck battle for the fifth spot on Kyle Flood’s unit.

Kyle Flood, despite the injury, is high on his group heading into fall camp.

“I love the upside of all these guys,” Flood said. “What determines the ability to play early and how consistently you play in the game is your ability to perform.”

One of his players in particular he is high on is DJ Campbell. Not just because of the high expectations and experience, but it’s absolutely imperative for the new unit to gel and gel quickly. The 6-foot-3, 321 pounder has played in 37 games with 30 starts – earning a 2024 Joe Moore Award finalist nod. Flood wants more, though.

“We want him to play at a really high level with really great consistency.”

Two newcomers are on Kyle Flood’s radar as well.

Jackson Christian and Nick Brooks as two 2025 signees who “have progressed well” but “training camp becomes the real test”.

Jordan and Devin Coleman are hard to miss – standing 6-foot-5 and 6-foot-4 respectively. But, the early returns off the scale from Flood are promising.

“They’re still getting caught up a little bit. Watching them move around in the summer, I’m really excited about their futures.”

The offensive line group, despite being fresh faces and non-starters, all seem to have the coaching staff excited. Campbell brings a ton of juice and Hutson is someone who can man the middle. If Baker can solidify himself as the guy at right tackle in camp, the Longhorns should on good footing heading into the opener. Trevor Goosby is a name coaches are very excited about and he should be able to anchor the left side.

But, at Ohio State to start the season is not the best place to see how your new-look offensive line looks trying to protect the preseason Heisman favorite, Arch Manning.
