Former Tennessee Vols edge rusher James Pearce can’t stop getting involved in fights at Atlanta Falcons training camp.

Pearce, who was selected by the Falcons in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, has been involved in numerous training camp scuffles due to his aggressive style of play.

On Monday, Pearce was involved in another brief training camp fight. And this time, according to 11 Alive’s Maria Martin, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris got right in Pearce’s face after.

Here’s a video of the incident. You can see what appears to be Morris approaching Pearce near the end.

You can also see Pearce exiting the fracas with another player’s helmet.

Pearce is certainly a menace on the field, but his teammates think that’s a good thing.

“He’s fire. I love that kid,” said defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus (via The Athletic). “He’s fast, athletic. He’s got a lot to learn, but seeing how he comes off the edge is crazy. He’s going to be a good player.”

Last week, Morris told reporters that he loves the edge that Pearce brings to the team.

“It was a part of our draft [plan],” said Morris when asked about the edge that Pearce plays with. “We wanted to add a little edge to our football team. We wanted to add a little edge to our rush. All of the really great football players that I’ve been around, they got edge. They got a little bit of edge when rushing the passer, when you’re talking about some of the great pass rushers — whether it’s Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Warren Sapp, Simeon Rice.

“Any of these guys who rush the passer, they have a little bit of edge. Part of our whole draft, part of our whole philosophy, part of our practice, part of us becoming the team that we want to be and going out and actually doing some of these things is acquiring players with some natural edge. That is
definitely a part of it. Definitely a part of what we want. That’s definitely a part of who we are.”

The Falcons clearly love Pearce’s energy, but they also know he has to learn to keep his emotions in check in certain situations. The last thing Atlanta needs is for Pearce to cost the team with an ill-timed 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the regular season.
