Jerry Jones is lying about the Micah Parsons’ contract situation and he just said it himself at Cowboys training camp

Trust me, I don’t feel like writing about this at all but it’s important and the job is the job: Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones talked about the Micah Parsons’ contract situation on Tuesday following the team’s joint practice with the Los Angeles Rams.
During his on-field media availability session with reporters, Jones admitted the Cowboys had not talked to Parsons since his trade request on Friday. He added the front office has yet to reach out to Micah’s agent, David Mulugheta.
And I’ve got to say: Jones basically confirmed he’s lying about the negotiation process—if you can even call it that—with Parsons.
“Your definition of urgent is not necessarily [mine],” Jones told reporters via Fort Worth Star Telegram’s Nick Harris on X. “I stay urgent.”
Listen, I know, I know. This is how Jerry plays the game. He says things to shift the narrative to his favor. But he is most certainly not being urgent at all right now. If he was, he would’ve reached out to Parsons’ agent by now. He would’ve asked his star player if he plans to play in the season opener. Instead, he claims he has no way to know that.
“Again, no [confidence on Parsons playing Week 1], absolutely no,” Jones said. “A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that?”
The NFL Kickoff between the Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles is under a month away. And Jones, who feels comfortable enough with his star player to negotiate a humongous deal without his agent present, doesn’t feel the same about asking him if he plans to play if they can’t strike a deal.
But I guess he’s staying urgent. At least at this point last year amid the CeeDee Lamb negotiations, he claimed there was no urgency. That would be a better thing to say right now.
