Von Miller just blasted social media post about a fight at Commanders practice, and the Giants are the ones having to pay for it
Von Miller had to set the record straight, and I feel sorry for the Giants
One of the greatest pass-rushers of all time just got some extra motivation before the season starts, as if he needed more.
Washington Commanders outside linebacker Von Miller set the record straight about a fight at practice against the New England Patriots, and sends a warning to an in-division rival. Someone posted a clip of one of many fights from the joint practice between the Commanders and Patriots and tried to falsely state that Miller got slammed, and he wasn’t going to let that fly.
Miller had to set the record straight
Social media is a platform where you can post whatever you want and try to twist any narrative you want, and people will believe everything they see. The blowback of that is when your false claim gets debunked, and the person involved speaks out on the claim.
Miller saw the social media post claiming that rookie Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson slammed the future Hall-of-Famer to the ground during a blitz pickup, which led to a bigger fight, and he had to post proof that he wasn’t anywhere near the play.
Miller had to react to the claim as he was amused by how far away he was from the fight, let alone being actually slammed. You can clearly see in the video posted with the post about Miller just how far away he was, but don’t worry, Miller says you can see him fight in Week 1 against the Giants.
“I got slammed?” Miller said, amused. “Y’all wanna see me fight so bad, y’all wanna see me fight? Y’all wanna see 36-year-old Von Miller fight? Tune in Week 1 vs the Giants.”
Miller has no interest in fighting at practice, but you can tell that he’s ready to get after it this season and add to his legacy. He signed a one-year, $6.1 million deal that’s worth up to $10.5 million with incentives. That’s plenty of motivation to collect more money on his way into retirement as well.
Week 1 can’t come soon enough
There’s only one team that loses in all of this, and it’s the Giants, who did absolutely nothing in the situation. Miller will have his ears pinned back when he hits the field, and the Giants’ offensive line will be tested with new quarterback Russell Wilson at the helm.
The Commanders can start the season hot with a 1-0 record in the division, and this single social media post may have added enough fuel to the fire for Miller to make sure they leave with a win in week one.
