The Indianapolis Colts saw multiple players leave early due to injuries during Sunday’s training camp practice. The team already got good news on WR Alec Pierce, but the one causing the most concern was CB Kenny Moore II, who suffered a knee injury.

To many who saw him go down live, the fear was that Moore could have suffered a season-ending knee injury. Thankfully, it appears Moore avoided that scenario, it seems, via the reporting of ESPN’s Stephen Holder.

The Colts’ CB room has been hit hard by injuries to start camp. Rookie Justin Walley tore his ACL during the team’s joint practice with the Baltimore Ravens, and Juju Brents and Jaylon Jones both have missed a ton of practice due to hamstring injuries. So, if they had lost a veteran leader like Moore, it would have been truly devastating.

There is still a possibility that Moore will have to miss some time, but luckily, there is plenty of time till the regular season arrives. The Colts have two more preseason games and a weekend of no football remaining ahead of their Week one matchup against the Miami Dolphins. Moore is a pro’s pro and isn’t someone the team will worry about being ready on the mental side of things come Week 1. So it makes sense for the Colts to let Moore take as much time as he needs to get his knee right. Dealing with an injury at all isn’t ideal, but the team gets to let out a giant sigh of relief knowing the worst-case scenario has been avoided.
