On Monday, Inside Texas reported a new name was on the board at running back for the 2027 class. Brandon (Miss.) four-star Tyson Robinson is now showing an extreme amount of interest.

As a sophomore, Robinson burst onto the scene with 1,294 rushing yards and 35 touchdowns. He also added 607 receiving yards and another score. Now, the Mississippi prospect has his sights set on possibly taking a look at the program in Austin.

But, the Longhorns have plenty of company for the 5-foot-11, 190 pound recruit.

“Texas, Tennessee, Mississippi State, OU, Oklahoma State, and Miami. And it sounds like the Volunteers have the head start,” Justin Wells of Inside Texas reported. “He’ll be in Austin on November 28th when the Longhorns and Aggies battle. He’ll also visit Alabama, Florida State, and Miami among his unofficial trips this fall.”

The in-state schools will almost certainly be in the mix as well.

But, Robinson won’t be shy about looking elsewhere if its a better fit. I spoke with him last summer about this and he was booming with confidence he can make an impact anywhere.

“I feel like it can be important,” Robinson said. “But if I know I can play somewhere else that will change.”

Speaking of Mississippi, it seems like Jeff Lebby is doing his best to try and keep Robinson in the Magnolia State.

“Mississippi State wants me to stay home. They’ve been on me since 9th grade. I’ve been there more than 10 times,” Robinson told Rivals’ Chad Simmons. “It’s only an hour and a half away, and a lot of people at my school are State fans. Coach Lebby and Coach Tucker are great — they teach a lot and it is a place I will keep getting back to.”
