The Denver Broncos are focused on preparing for the 2025 season and are utilizing training camp and the preseason to do so. Their joint practice on Thursday with the Arizona Cardinals allowed them to test themselves against an actual live opponent.

There was some added pressure for the Broncos, though, as Hall of Fame QB and Broncos Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning was on the field to take in practice.

Peyton Manning shows up to watch the Broncos’ joint practice with the Cardinals

Manning spent the final four years of his legendary NFL career with the Broncos. He won an MVP while in Denver and helped lead the team to two Super Bowls, including their win in 2015. Despite spending the majority of his career with the Indianapolis Colts, Manning has made it clear through his words and, more importantly, his actions that he values his time with the Broncos. Because of this, it shouldn’t come as a surprise to see him at the team’s joint practice, especially since he and his family have a home in the area.

The Broncos’ joint practice being with the Cardinals also added a cool element due to one of Manning’s former teammates on the Colts. Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr. is the son of Colts legend Marvin Harrison, a player that Manning had a ton of success with during their time together in Indianapolis. Peyton got to see Harrison Jr. grow up; he was even on the field celebrating with his dad and the team after their Super Bowl win in 2007. Now Manning can watch Marvin’s son compete in an NFL training camp, and while that probably makes Peyton feel old, it also has to feel pretty dang cool.
