One game stands between the end of the preseason and the start of the regular season for all 32 teams in the NFL.

On Friday, the Chicago Bears will travel to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in the preseason finale in what will be the first road game under head coach Ben Johnson.

Coming of a 38-0 blowout against the Buffalo Bills, the Bears will be eager to face another top-tier AFC contender and this time could potentially face the starters, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, in a live game setting with no joint practice scheduled this week.

Below is how fans can tune into the Bears-Chiefs preseason matchup.

How to Watch Bears vs. Chiefs Preseason Matchup

  • When: Friday, August 22, 2025 at 8:20 p.m. ET
  • Where: Arrowhead Stadium
  • TV Live: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, NFL Network (based on local area)
  • Stream: NFL+, YouTube TV
  • Listen: ESPN 1000

Reading between the lines, one would expect the majority of starters will see the field again this weekend based on what Johnson said on Sunday night after the Bills game.

“We take into account the number of reps they’re having here,” Johnson said. “I know we’ll have a good padded practice on Wednesday. We need one more of those. I thought a big part of what tonight was about was getting our routine down for a home night game, which is Week 1 for us. I thought our starters did a great job. They understood what the purpose was. They came out and got the job done and did what they needed to do and we got them out of the game. I thought the routine was a big part of it. This would be really the first time we’re on the road in a preseason. It’s probably good to go through that exercise as well.”

Players To Watch

WR Luther Burden III – It’s hard not to watch Burden when he’s on the field, especially when the ball goes his direction. In just two preseason games, the second-round rookie proved he can be a dynamic player with the ball in his hands, let’s see if he can continue building some trust before the season.

CB Nick McCloud – One player making a late roster push is McCloud, who’s starting to get reps on the outside and at the nickel position. That kind of versatility can bode well for the veteran’s chances of sticking around, along with quality play at either position.

WRs Miles Boykin, Tyler Scott, Maurice Alexander, Jahdae Walker – The battle for a potential sixth WR spot on the roster is turning into quite the decision. Alexander and Walker have made some strong plays in both preseason games, Scott had some flashes against the Bills, and Boykin provides some special teams upside. Watching these four names will be key in the final preseason game.

LT Theo Benedet – The Canadian Eagle entered the left tackle conversation last week taking first-team reps with Braxton Jones. While Jones got the start for the second week in a row, Benedet got some decent playing time with the second-team offense. The staff seems to be impressed with how quickly the former UDFA as developed, but does he have enough time to secure a starting spot?
