Philadelphia Eagles Howie Roseman is cooking with trades, and this time, they’re bringing back a reliable and familiar face.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles have traded the Jacksonville Jaguars for offensive tackle Fred Johnson, who played for Philly from 2022 to 2024.

“Another Eagles trade: Jaguars are sending OT Fred Johnson back to Philadelphia in exchange for a 2026 seventh-round pick, per sources. Johnson now returns to the team he played for from 2022-‘24,” Schefter reported on X/Twitter.

The Eagles did not have a standout swing tackle at the end of the preseason after Kendall Lamm and Matt Pryor did not look the part.

Johnson, who signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2019 as an undrafted free agent, also played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers before signing with the Eagles in 2022.

He saw action in all 17 games with six starts last fall for the Birds. Most notably, he did a solid job stepping in at right tackle for Lane Johnson and left tackle for Jordan Mailata throughout the 2024 season.

Johnson had signed with the Jaguars this past March during the NFL Free Agency period.

Roseman also traded with the Minnesota Vikings for quarterback Sam Howell and sent offensive tackle Darian Kinnard to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
