Cleveland Browns are keeping multiple rookies on their 53-man roster who could make the NFL look silly for not drafting them
The UDFAs are getting a chance in Cleveland.
The Cleveland Browns have seen mostly positive early returns from their 2025 NFL Draft class. On top of that, the team brought in several undrafted free agents (UDFAs), and multiple of those rookies appear poised to make an impact.
Cleveland is set to keep several UDFAs on its initial 53-man roster. That group is highlighted by defensive tackle Adin Huntington, who head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed as a roster lock following the preseason win over the Los Angeles Rams.
With final cuts looming, the rest of the undrafted group expected to stick is now known.
Browns may have found several hidden gem rookies
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns will keep safety Donovan McMillon, wide receiver Gage Larvadain, linebacker Easton Mascarenas-Arnold, and cornerback Dom Jones. It was also already clear that former Texas wideout Isaiah Bond would make the roster after signing with the team last week.
Cleveland has been thin at safety behind Grant Delpit and Ronnie Hickman. D’Anthony Bell and Hickman himself are recent UDFAs who stuck with the Browns, so the team isn’t shy about keeping undrafted talent at the position. Veteran Rayshawn Jenkins figures as the No. 3 safety, while McMillon could step in as the fourth option and contribute heavily on special teams. Damontae Kazee is also in the mix as a free safety.
Linebacker depth is another concern with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah out for the season and second-year LB Nathaniel Watson sidelined. Carson Schwesinger, Mohamoud Diabate, and Devin Bush project as the starters, with Jerome Baker providing top depth. Mascarenas-Arnold slots in as back-end depth and a potential special teams contributor.
At corner, Jones impressed with his physical style and hard-hitting play throughout the preseason. He could see time as a slot option.
Early signs suggest the Browns may have hit on their UDFA class, uncovering multiple players who can make an impact. The real test begins Sept. 7, when Cleveland opens the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals.
