The first 53-man roster of the 2025 season is in for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, it’s about building out the practice squad that will surely come into play at some point during the season.

Injuries are a large and consistent factor in NFL life, making the practice squad a very valuable commodity when it comes to not only developing players, but potentially calling a few of them up on game days when needed. There have been plenty of instances where practice squad players provide positive contributions during the regular season, so it’s not something to just turn one’s nose up at.

Below is the list of players for the 2025 version of the Bucs practice squad. We will continue to update this article as more information comes in.

Bucs’ practice squad tracker for the 2025 season

  • OL Mike Jordan – Per Greg Auman, the Bucs are signing the veteran offensive lineman to the practice squad. This is big because the Buccaneers only have seven healthy offensive linemen on the 53-man roster. Jordan saw time at tackle and guard, so he also provides versatility.
  • DL Adam Gotsis – Per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, Gotsis is the second veteran to join the Bucs’ practice squad. This is another move that makes sense, as the Bucs carried only five defensive linemen on the initial 53-man roster.
  • TE Tanner Taula – The young tight end passed through waivers and landed back in Tampa Bay. This was expected and now Taula gets a chance to keep developing with the hopes of sticking to the 53, one day.
  • DL C.J. Brewer – Per Bucs Gameday’s JC Allen, Brewer is back for another go on the squad. He’s been an effective piece for the Buccaneers and even racked up two sacks against the Falcons in 2024.
  • OL Lorenz Metz – The International Pathway Player allows the Bucs to carry 17 guys on the practice squad, instead of 16, due to NFL rules.
  • WR Garrett Greene – The QB-turned-WR really started turning heads in the back half of training camp and the preseason. He’ll be an intriguing player to monitor in 2025 and moving forward.
  • OL Ben Scott – Per Pewter Report, the undrafted rookie impressed enough to land on the practice squad. He displayed some versatility on the inside, which is key for any interior offensive lineman trying to make his mark in the NFL.
  • DL Nash Hutchmacher – One of the quieter-yet-more-impressive UDFAs now gets his chance to keep growing and maybe get beyond the practice squad, one day.
  • LB Nick Jackson – He was one of the Bucs’ preseason standouts and really made a case to make the 53-man roster. Of all the UDFA rookies, Jackson has the best chance of getting elevated during the season when looking at the path to get there/what he’s done so far.
  • CB Bryce Hall – The veteran got off to a good start in training camp but an injury ultimately derailed his momentum when it comes to making the roster. Regardless, Hall represents excellent veteran depth that can be used any week it’s needed.
  • DL Jayson Jones – The first outside signing of the Buccaneers’ practice squad, Jones brings a ton of size to the mix at 6-foot-6, 335 pounds.
  • OL Tyler McLellan – He was added to the team shortly after the news broke about Tristan Wirfs going on PUP. More tackle depth for the Bucs in case there’s some kind of setback with Wirfs or a future injury to him or another player in whatever regard.
  • OL Luke Haggard – This gives the Buccaneers five offensive linemen on the practice squad, showcasing the needed depth as the unit pulls itself together for the 2025 season.
  • QB Connor Bazelak – He really impressed toward the end of the preseason and is part of the formula that led to the Bucs parting ways with Kyle Trask.
  • WR Dennis Houston – The veteran wideout was on the team’s practice squad last year and is looking to keep working toward making the 53, eventually.
