Adidas issues stark reminder to 31 other NFL teams about Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes in latest ‘Manifesto’ brand film
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is ready to ruin the day for fans of 31 other NFL teams.
Things didn’t go the way of the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, but make no mistake about the team’s star quarterback. He’s not done yet.
There’s no denying that Patrick Mahomes was on the losing end of Super Bowl LIX and didn’t do enough to help his team win the game. The two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl champion is also coming off his worst statistical season as a starter with 3,928 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions on 581 attempts. However, the idea that he’s fallen off in or isn’t the same quarterback is a sorely mistaken notion. One of his brand partners is seeking to remind folks of that.
On Thursday, Adidas launched a new campaign featuring Mahomes, ensuring that the 29-year-old star isn’t being underestimated heading into the 2025 NFL Season. Adidas will highlight Mahomes throughout the year, featuring various short brand films inspired by his dynamic balance between on-field and off-field personas. It all begins with Mahomes’ manifesto.
Non-Chiefs fans, beware: Patrick Mahomes will ruin your Sunday
The first of these short brand films is “Manifesto.” It embodies what we’ve come to know about Mahomes over the past seven years. He isn’t one to respond to all the talk off the field. He’d rather prove his doubters wrong between the hashmarks.
“There are the ones that are allowed to stand out. Big barks, lots of showboating. Others don’t need to. They can smile first. Sign balls, shake hands, shake it off, then flip the switch. Focused, polite, but icy when it counts. So, go ahead. Let them think you’re harmless. Let them think this is going to be easy, and then ruin their Sunday.”
Even the caption on the social post speaks for itself: “He smiles. You relax. Then he ruins your Sunday. The wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
As practice for Week 1 gets underway on Sunday, it’s nearly time for No. 15 to flip the switch.
