The Tennessee Vols are hoping to make a big impression this weekend on a 2027 five-star recruit that’s currently committed to the Oregon Ducks.

2027 five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman is set to visit Tennessee this weekend for the Volunteers’ big game against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Bowman, 6-foot-1/174 lbs from Brentwood, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 6 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Tennessee. He’s also rated as the No. 36 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

The talented wide receiver has been committed to Oregon since late July.

Kesean Bowman is very familiar with the Tennessee Vols

With Bowman being an in-state player, it’s not a surprise that he’s visited Tennessee multiple times.

“I’ve been there around 10 times and they’re still recruiting me just as hard as before I committed,” said Bowman to On3 this week of his interest in Tennessee. “Coach (Kelsey) Pope and Coach (Josh) Heupel are on me every week.”

Bowman noted that he’s still committed to the Ducks, but he’s open to continuing to build relationships with other programs.

Tennessee is much closer to home for Bowman. I think the Vols have a shot to flip the five-star recruit, but it’s never easy to steal a recruit from Oregon and Nike’s big checkbook.

And that’s not a surprise. Vols head coach Josh Heupel pointed out at SEC Media Days in July that Tennessee’s players cared about Iamaleava. “Our football team, […]
