Week 3 was a win for the Cleveland Browns over the Green Bay Packers, and it didn’t look like that was always going to be the case. Cleveland came out on top 13-10, but the Browns were down 10-0 at one point with their backs against the wall. The Browns’ defense was playing at a terrific level all game, and the offense and special teams came around just in time to get the win

It was not until the 3:45 mark in the fourth quarter that the Browns got on the board for the first time with a 35-yard field goal by Andre Szmyt, who would go on to nail a 55-yard winner as time expired. Cleveland looked out of it late, and as a result, fans were spotted leaving the game. Coming off of a 3-14 season and 0-2 start this year, it looked like the Browns were dropping to 0-3, until it didn’t.

Myles Garrett points out fans leaving early after win over Packers

“You know, I saw some of the fans leaving, and I just knew they would be missing on something special, that we still had something in the tank,” Garrett said following the win. “Those guys over there on the other end are tough. They were tough for 60 minutes, and we grinded away and made just enough plays.”

Garrett was again a menace in this game, recording six total tackles and a half sack, but the All-Pro wasn’t alone in the sack party. Carson Schwesinger, Maliek Collins, Alex Wright, and Adin Huntington all had a sack for Cleveland against Jordan Love and the Packers.

Cleveland’s defensive front led the way in what was another special performance for the Browns’ defense. The Browns gave up just 230 total yards despite the Packers having the ball for over 34 minutes of game time, which was nearly 10 more minutes than the Browns had.

The win over the Packers was the first of three straight games against the NFC North. Next up is the Detroit Lions on the road, which will present another tough game for the Browns. Week 3 showed that the Cleveland defense will allow them to play with anyone, but the offense will have to do its part to give them a chance.
