The Denver Broncos once again found themselves on the losing side of a last-second, game-winning field goal. Head coach Sean Payton expressed that the team has plenty to clean up ahead of their upcoming primetime contest in Week 4 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

While quarterback Bo Nix and the offense bounced back with a big performance, penalties forced Denver into poor field position in its Week 3 loss, something the signal-caller discussed after the game as needing to be addressed moving forward.

With Payton discussing before the season that this team has what it takes to win a Super Bowl, there isn’t much time to right the ship with some of the costly mistakes that are plaguing the team early in the season. All eyes are going to be on ‘Monday Night Football.’ Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming contest between the Broncos and the Bengals.

3 Broncos players to watch in Week 4 matchup against the Bengals

  • Bo Nix: Nix took the loss against the Los Angeles Chargers personally, saying that the team needs to find a way to execute down the stretch. The second-year quarterback was just a touch behind on some of his throws, which ultimately could’ve swung the game in Denver’s favor. Nevertheless, Nix and the offense will be taking on the Bengals, who were embarrassed in Week 3 by the Minnesota Vikings. Despite some early-season woes, the connection between Nix and Courtland Sutton has looked as advertised. Expect a big day from the pair in the upcoming showdown.
  • J.K. Dobbins: Dobbins’ revenge game against the Chargers was as advertised. While Denver lost, Dobbins was dominant in the backfield. In fact, coming out of halftime against the Chargers, Dobbins was the entire identity of the Broncos’ first drive in the second half, with the veteran running back finding the end zone. Rookie RJ Harvey was severely limited with his touches during the Chargers game, so expect another heavy dose of Dobbins in the backfield. Through three games, Dobbins has amassed 222 yards and three touchdowns on 41 carries.
  • Nik Bonitto: Bonitto has been a sack machine in the early stages of the 2025 season. Outside of his sack production, his pressures are at another level. Ahead of the Week 3 contest, Bonitto led the NFL in pass rush win rate with 11 pressures, along with four quarterback hits and six hurries on 40 pass rush snaps. In the team’s Week 3 loss, Bonitto continued his impressive season, earning two sacks with five quarterback hits. He’s a nightmare for opposing offensive coordinators to game plan against, and will be hungry to get after the quarterback once again in Week 4.
