Former Tennessee Vols offensive lineman Ramon Foster has a brilliant suggestion for UT football fans that are heading to Starkville this weekend for the Volunteers’ matchup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Mississippi State home games are unique because of the constant clanging of cowbells from fans in the stands.

Foster, who is the co-host of 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will, suggested on Thursday that Tennessee fans should bring their own cowbells to the game on Saturday afternoon.

Voice of the Vols Mike Keith is on board with Ramon Foster’s idea

“Since they’re allowed to do this and bring their own cowbells in, I’m asking Vols fans to fight that energy with the same energy,” said Foster on Thursday morning during a conversation on 104.5 The Zone with Voice of the Vols Mike Keith. “Listen, go to a Tractor Supply Company and buy your own cowbells. Paint them black or orange or white.”

“Mike, are you opposed to the idea of us using cowbells when they’re on offense?”

“No, I think that’s great,” replied Keith. “Why would you not do that? Because, I mean, there will be a bunch of Vols there. You know that. Tennessee fans get in everywhere.”

I don’t know how many Vols fans will be in Starkville on Saturday. But if every Tennessee fan that shows up brings their own cowbell, it could certainly make a difference.

And speaking of making a difference, there’s no doubt that the cowbells provide an advantage for Mississippi State.

“The cowbells are annoying as piss,” said former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman David Pollack this week. “They’re in your ear the whole time. You hear it on the broadcast the whole time. It makes a difference. It can swing a game.”

Tennessee and Mississippi State are set to kick off at 3:15 PM CT/4:15 PM ET on Saturday.
