Broncos’ Bo Nix joins some elite company that’s further proof Sean Payton has found his franchise quarterback in Denver
Bo Nix has been playing on another level.
The Denver Broncos are making their final preparations for an upcoming showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.
Through the early stages of the season, quarterback Bo Nix has had some back-and-forth performances. However, against the Cincinnati Bengals, Nix and the offense shined. He finished his day going 29 for 42 with 326 yards and two touchdowns in the air and one on the ground.
Nix has proven to be a dual-threat quarterback, making defenses pay with both his arms and his legs. With that, he has joined some elite company, which is further proof that head coach Sean Payton has found his franchise quarterback.
As Aric DiLalla, lead writer for the Broncos, shared on X, Nix is one of three quarterbacks since the start of the 2024 season to have 35 passing touchdowns and five rushing touchdowns. The other names on the list? Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, with three MVPs split between the two, that makes for some good company.
Bo Nix gets some high praise from Eagles’ defensive coordinator
Through 20 starts with the Broncos, as shown during the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast, Nix is second in completion percentage, second in passing touchdowns, and second in passer rating, all falling behind legendary quarterback Peyton Manning.

While critics were quick to write off Nix during his rookie year, it’s hard to argue against what his production has been on the football field. The talented second-year signal caller even got a boost from Eagles’ defensive coordinator Vic Fangio ahead of the Week 5 matchup.
“They got their quarterback for the future,” Fangio said. “They looked long and hard for many years, and they’ve got one.”
There is still plenty of work for Nix and the offense, as Bo has struggled through the first few weeks of the season when looking at his performance when blitzed or pressured. Despite that, he just keeps finding the end zone, and a victory over the Eagles would go a long way toward Nix continuing to shut down critics of his game.
A win in Philadelphia wouldn’t just boost the Broncos in the standings; it would further cement Nix’s status as the franchise quarterback Payton has been searching for.
