Bills’ Keon Coleman under fire after a now-deleted cryptic social media post after team’s disastrous loss against the Falcons
A confusing message from the receiver.
The Buffalo Bills are reeling from the loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
The offense and defense were issues, with the defense allowing running back Bijan Robinson and wide receiver Drake London to dominate the first half, recording over 300 total yards. In the second half, outside of a scoring drive to open the game, Buffalo couldn’t get anything going on offense.
Heading into the season, there were big things planned for receiver Keon Coleman, but outside of Week 1, he hasn’t been dominant. It’s unclear what drove him to post the social media message, or if it’s even about his on-field issues, but Coleman left the world with a message.
“Say less,” Coleman posted to X, formerly known as Twitter.
Coleman struggled through six weeks
Ahead of the season, the talk of training camp was Coleman’s rise in the offense. Even offensive lineman Dion Dawkins said the league better get ready for Coleman’s second year. He hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, even finding himself benched for the first series against the New England Patriots.
Through six weeks, Coleman has totaled 24 receptions for 237 yards and two touchdowns. A far cry from “the league better get ready,” for Coleman’s performances in the early showings. In just Week 1 against the Ravens, Coleman had eight catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Whether it’s miscommunication with quarterback Josh Allen, tougher defensive matchups, or simply just some growing pains of a young player finding consistency, Coleman hasn’t matched his success in Week 1. His frustration on social media could reflect a deeper desire to prove himself.
Maybe his “say less” was Coleman’s way of telling critics he plans to let his play do the talking. The Bills could use that kind of response, and soon.
