Alabama should come away with more than one win after capping off the best month of Kalen DeBoer’s tenure in win over Tennessee

It’s hard to argue that anyone in college football is better than Alabama right now.

If you told a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide that their team would go on to win four straight games against ranked opponents after that Week 1 loss against FSU, they likely would have laughed at you. Or they would have asked who was playing quarterback and who was coaching the team.

Well, here we sit, and those two positions haven’t changed, but everything else has. Alabama’s last month has featured wins against the Georgia Bulldogs on the road, Vanderbilt Commodores, Missouri Tigers, and after Saturday night, the Tennessee Volunteers.

Which means it’s time for the Associated Press to give Alabama the credit it deserves.

Alabama’s win over Tennessee should have them top 2 in this week’s AP Top-25 Poll

Look, does the Florida State loss look worse after seeing what has become of the Seminoles as of late? No doubt. But you know what looks better? The Georgia win after the Bulldogs took care of a top 10 Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday.

The Vanderbilt win, seeing as they beat the LSU Tigers on Saturday. The fact that Alabama held Diego Pavia and the Dores to zero second-half points is only going to help Alabama’s case down the line.

How about last week? Alabama went into Columbia and went face to face with the country’s best rushing attack and surely the most dynamic running back via Ahmad Hardy. How did that go? Oh, that’s right, it was a 27-24 win that saw Hardy be out-rushed by his quarterback Beau Pribula. He had just 52 yards.

And then it was the third Saturday in October. Heavily favored coming in, Alabama doubled the spread after winning 37-20 and slowing down one of the nation’s best passing offenses. So has Indiana looked good? Sure.

Are the Texas A&M Aggies undefeated? No doubt. But no one outside of the Ohio State Buckeyes is a hotter football team right now, and the AP Poll should reflect that on Sunday. With South Carolina on deck and then a bye before a home game against the LSU Tigers, Alabama needs to keep its foot on the gas to close out the regular season.
