Three bold predictions and a final score for Dolphins vs Browns — Miami looks to weather the storm and reclaim its pride in Week 7
How is Miami’s Week 7 contest against the Browns going to play out? Who brings home a win?
Saddle up, Miami Dolphins fans! It’s time for another 2025 showdown!
We spend all year waiting eagerly for football season, so let’s remember to have some fun. Cheer when you can. And let’s see what the Dolphins give us to be happy about throughout the course of the day today. How is today’s contest against the Browns going to play out? I’ve got three bold predictions and a final score projection for Dolphins versus Browns.
Three bold predictions & final score outcome for Dolphins versus Browns in Week 7

Dolphins leave Week 7 ranked outside the top-8 in worst defensive net yards allowed per pass attempt
Major shoutout to the football gods and the weather forecast for this one. Miami is currently ranked 5th in the NFL among worst net yards per attempt defenses in the NFL — but Cleveland already keeps the passes short and that’s before you get to the wind and the rain. I suspect that means we’ll see Miami showcase well in this regard, even in the worst of the winds are now poised to miss kickoff.
2025 NFL defenses ranked worst in net yards/attempt through Week 6
- Dallas Cowboys – 7.5 ny/a
- New England Patriots – 7.4 ny/a
- Cincinnati Bengals – 7.3 ny/a (7 games played)
- Chicago Bears – 7.2 ny/a
- Miami Dolphins – 7.1 ny/a
Cleveland, offensively is averaging, 4.3 net yards per attempt on the season and the mark for Gabriel is actually under 4 yards. If the Dolphins don’t get a healthy bump in this statistic coming out of this game, they’re in even worse shape than we thought.
I’d look for Gabriel to go under 180 passing yards in this contest to put a raw number of the total. Remember, they’re without TE David Njoku, too.

Dolphins running back De’Von Achane logs his second consecutive 2 touchdown game
Death. Taxes. De’Von Achane touches. These are the certainties in life, my friends. And as much as I would like to think we’re going to see more Ollie Gordon II in this game than in the last three games combined, I suspect Mike McDaniel is still going to be seeking the opportunity to dial up his touchdowns for De’Von Achane. Perhaps Waller snipes one in the low red zone, too. But I expect touchdowns to be hard to come by and the best intersection of pass and run game opportunities has always been Achane. I think he hits pay dirt twice.

Miami runs for more yards against the Browns than any team has so far in 2025
Cleveland’s run game metrics defensively have been impressive. They’ve bottled up four of their six opponents thus far in 2025 to keep them under 100 yards as a team. The first two games of the season saw opponents rush for less than 50 yards as a team — and that includes a Derrick Henry/Lamar Jackson fueled offense in Baltimore (Week 2).
But it’s been more leaky, lately. Detroit and Pittsburgh have gone over 100 rushing yards as a team in the last three weeks. Detroit posted 109 yards against the Browns, a season-high for the Cleveland defense. So why does Miami top that number? In part because they’ll need to, but they’ve also posted 123+ rushing yards in three of their last four, the lone exception being Miami’s Week 5 loss to the Panthers — a game that Miami led at one point 17-0.

FINAL SCORE PREDICTION
The Dolphins and Browns will play on a wet, sloppy field. There’s been much made about the Dolphins and their chaotic season thus far — they’ve too often shot themselves in the foot with avoidable errors. They’ve let a number of games slip away that were well within their grasp. One thing I know about this Dolphins team is that there are a prideful collective of men on the roster. I expect them to act accordingly and I do think they’ll come into Cleveland and be in a position to win this football game late.
I think they ultimately do, too.
Miami Dolphins – 20 :: Cleveland Browns – 16
