Aggies’ matchup against South Carolina just got much bigger and it has nothing to do with the College Football Playoff

The Texas A&M Aggies are sitting comfortably at #3 in the country after a dominant 38-17 victory over the Missouri Tigers. With a pair of relatively easy games at home on the docket after a grueling three-game road stretch against Arkansas, LSU, and Missouri, the Aggies are gearing up for one final push at going undefeated in the regular season and pushing for an SEC conference championship berth.

Along the way, they are aiming to tie up some loose ends and wrap up their 2026 class ahead of the Early Signing Period, which occurs the same week as their potential conference championship appearance. A&M smartly elected to use this “down” time on their schedule to line up multiple visits, and their game against South Carolina has as impressive of a visitor’s list as you will find.

While this matchup against the Gamecocks doesn’t seem as impressive on paper as it did at the beginning of the season, this should still be an incredible environment, as it’s the first time the Aggies have played a game at home in over a month. A&M will need that environment to welcome in the potential stars of the future that are descending on College Station this week. A&M will need to continue their dominant play to fully deliver on what could be a monumental recruiting weekend.

Texas A&M Recruiting Rankings

  • The Texas A&M Aggies currently sit sixth in the country in the 2026 recruiting class rankings, according to 247Sports
  • The Aggies boast 26 commits in their 2026 class, and could take in as many as 30 by the time the Early Signing Period ends
  • A&M currently only has one five-star committed, EDGE Tristian Givens, but are in play for several more

Aggies aiming to flip elite player away from SEC Rival

When the Aggies play host to South Carolina, one of their goals will be to impress those players in attendance, with one particular player who seems to be drawing all the eyeballs. Five-star defensive back Bralan Womack is currently committed to the Auburn Tigers, but with Hugh Freeze now fired, Womack is looking around and re-evaluating his commitment. He visited Mississippi State last weekend and will be in College Station this week. The number-one safety in the class, Womack will be a huge priority for this Aggies’ staff to flip.

However, Womack won’t be the only flip candidate the Aggies are hosting this weekend. Four-star wide receiver Jayden Warren, a Houston commit, will also be in town. Mike Elko has made Warren one of his highest priorities, and has been trending strongly with the Aggies for some time now. I wouldn’t be shocked to see him end up joining the class. Additionally, current Florida Gators commit four-star EDGE KJ Ford will be in town once again this weekend. Ford has visited A&M twice before, but it feels like this third visit could be the final one before he makes the leap to join the Aggies.

A whole slew of 2027 and 2028 recruits will also be heading to College Station this week. Elite 2027 stars such as four-star wide receivers Braylon Clark and Quentin Hale, four-star cornerback Raylaun Henry, four-star offensive lineman Kennedy Brown, and four-star EDGE rusher Kaden McCarty will all be in town. On top of that, five-star 2028 wide receiver Eric McFarland, the sixth-overall player in the class of 2028, will be in attendance.

Here is the full list of names set to visit the Aggies this weekend:
