A 2026 four-star recruit who was previously committed to the Texas A&M Aggies is reportedly set to visit the Tennessee Vols this weekend.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong noted on Thursday that 2026 four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter will be in Knoxville this weekend for Tennessee’s game against New Mexico State.

Carter decommitted from Texas A&M on November 1. He also took a visit to Tennessee for the Vols’ loss to the Oklahoma Sooners on November 1.

Tennessee is battling two other programs for Jordan Carter’s commitment

Carter, 6-foot-3/245 lbs from Douglasville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 17 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 18 player in the state of Georgia. He’s also rated as the No. 139 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Auburn and Georgia Tech are the other two programs in the mix for Carter.

The four-star recruit is scheduled to take an official visit to Auburn next weekend before taking an official visit to Georgia Tech in the final week of the regular season.

It’s still unclear who Auburn’s head coach will be next season after Hugh Freeze was fired earlier this month. We’ll see if that uncertainty impacts Carter’s decision.

247Sports’ Anna Adams, for what it’s worth, predicted this week that Tennessee will be the team that wins the battle for Carter.
