The Cincinnati Bengals are prepping for another rivalry matchup in Week 11 of the NFL season. They will be without a few key players, and quarterback Joe Burrow continues to make his way back to the gridiron sooner rather than later following the final injury report for their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Observations

  • Joe Flacco continues his trend of no practice on Friday. We see this from veterans plenty. They tend to get in a certain groove in preparation, and that can include one day a week where they take off for some extra rest. He will start Sunday.
  • Joe Burrow logged limited practices all week long. He remains out for this week, though. The starting QB is ahead of schedule in his rehab process, and Burrow expects to be back by Thanksgiving, Week 13 of the season.
  • Samaje Perine was rule out, opening the door for a bell-cow sort of role for Chase Brown at running back once again. It will be intriguing to see how the depth shakes out at that position for Cincy this weekend.
  • Edge rushers Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart were ruled out. The defensive line could once again be a weakness for the Bengals defense against the Steelers. They must find unique ways to pressure Aaron Rodgers.

If Cincinnati wants the return of Burrow to mean anything more than emotional support entering the offseason, they need to find ways to win a game or two leading up to his potential return in a couple of weeks. This weekend is an important one for the Bengals and Steelers.
