Titans fans met their breaking point at Nissan Stadium, giving up during game vs Texans
It wasn’t a pretty sight for Titans fans in NFL Week 11.
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans (1-9) played a one-score game at home on Sunday against the Houston Texans (5-5) that they eventually lost. With 1:35 remaining in the fourth quarter, Tennessee had tied the score at 13-13 and had put itself in a position to play for an overtime win.
The few Titans fans who were in attendance, however, had no interest in even sticking around to see if their team could keep things competitive.
Titans fans have given up
One could completely understand how this could be the case.
Tennessee did next to nothing offensively for three quarters in one of the most boring football games the NFL calendar will see this season. Still, if you bother to take time out of your day to go down to Nissan Stadium in the first place on a 65-degree day in November to watch your NFL team play, one would think the idea of a one-score game in the fourth quarter would keep you in your seats.
Yet, Titans fans streamed out of the stadium en masse after Houston kicked a 43-yard field goal with 12:03 remaining in the game to take a 13-6 lead.
They’ve lost any belief in rookie quarterback Cam Ward or the offense to do anything of consequence.
Ward eventually led an 11-play, 95-yard touchdown drive to get the tie. It included a 38-yard dot to tight end Chig Okonkwo that would put them in position to score. Most Titans fans in attendance never saw it.
Tennessee’s eventual loss proved right those who saved themselves the extra half hour of losing football.
