Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is expected to be the top candidate for Power-4 head coach job
Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh is expected to be a hot head coaching candidate this winter.
Former Tennessee Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh, who is in his third season as the head coach at USF, is expected to be the top candidate for a Power-4 head coaching job, despite an unfavorable result this past weekend.
USF lost to Navy on Saturday, which means it’s unlikely the Bulls will reach the American Athletic Conference Championship game.
That means Golesh will be available sooner than he would’ve been, since USF likely won’t be heading to the College Football Playoff.
Alex Golesh is expected to become the top candidate at Oklahoma State
According to a report from GoPokes247, Golesh is expected to become the top candidate at Oklahoma State.
“With USF losing to Navy Saturday and having an outside shot of reaching the American Athletic Conference Championship game on Dec. 5, head coach Alex Golesh becomes more available and is expected to be the top candidate, GoPokes has learned,” wrote 247Sports’ McClain Baxley.
Golesh is 21-15 in 36 games at USF.
The Bulls were 4-29 in the three seasons before Golesh’s arrival.
Golesh, who served as Tennessee’s offensive coordinator from 2021 to 2022, was a graduate assistant at Oklahoma State in 2008.
