Ohio State Buckeyes have completed another major recruiting flip, and there is no signs of them slowing down
The Buckeyes are blazing hot on the recruiting trail.
The Ohio State Buckeyes have been on a serious heater on the recruiting trail, actively flipping commitments away from other programs. Ohio State hosted multiple big-time visitors this past Saturday during its 48–10 win over UCLA. Since that victory, the Buckeyes have added 2026 recruits EDGE Dre Quinn and TE Nick Lautar — and now they’ve flipped an ACC commit who was in Columbus over the weekend.
James Laurinaitis lands his third linebacker in the 2026 class
Three-star Mill Creek (GA) linebacker Braxton Rembert had been committed to Wake Forest since June, but after visiting Columbus he has officially flipped to Ohio State. The Buckeyes offered Rembert on Oct. 26, and getting him on campus was all they needed to seal the deal. He joins in-state linebackers Cincere Johnson and CJ Sanna in Ohio State’s 2026 linebacker haul.
Rembert is a big, athletic linebacker who may still be a bit raw, but he has the tools to become a real problem at the college level if he develops as expected. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound defender plays strong competition in Georgia. While he didn’t hold many major offers, he is a handpicked talent that Laurinaitis and the Buckeyes clearly believe in. Rembert is ranked as the No. 590 overall player in the 2026 class.
He also attends the same high school that Caleb Downs once starred at — a connection that certainly stands out. Rembert has put together a strong senior season, recording 49 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles, an interception, and six pass breakups. Ohio State now holds the No. 6-ranked recruiting class for 2026, per 247Sports. The Buckeyes were always expected to be active heading into signing day as they worked to flip multiple recruits. They’ve done a great job of that so far, and they aren’t done yet after adding Rembert.
