Bengals Injury Report: Joe Burrow takes another major step in his journey back to playing
Burrow is one step closer to playing for the first time in over two months.
The Cincinnati Bengals returned to practice Wednesday with the New England Patriots set to arrive in a few days for their Week 12 bout, and the quarterback situation in Cincinnati looks a lot more interesting than it did a couple days ago.
Let’s take a look at the team’s first injury report of the week.

| G Jalen Rivers | Knee/Ankle | DNP | — |
| DE Cam Sample | Oblique | DNP | — |
| CB Cam Taylor-Britt | Foot | DNP | — |
Observations
- Joe Burrow (toe) was a full participant in practice for the first time since being cleared to practice last Monday. Burrow is still on the Reserve/Injured list, but the plan was to get him working in 11-on-11 while Joe Flacco (right shoulder) had his off day to rest his AC joint sprain. Head coach Zac Taylor didn’t want speculate on whether or not Burrow could play this weekend, but a full practice to start the week is an encouraging sign.
- Daijahn Anthony (hamstring) and Mike Gesicki (pectoral) were also full participants Wednesday after they were each cleared to practice. Taylor alluded to Gesicki having a chance to play Sunday, which would be ideal timing with Ja’Marr Chase suspended for the week.
- Jalen Rivers (knee/ankle), Cam Sample (oblique), and Cam Taylor-Britt (foot) all missed practice with fresh injuries. Taylor-Britt is likely to have surgery for a Linsfranc injury and would be placed on I.R. if that happens. Rivers, who’s been the starting right guard since Week 4, missed 11 snaps last Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and was replaced by Dalton Risner.
- Trey Hendrickson (hip/pelvis) and Samaje Perine (ankle) are already “doubtful” for this week according to Taylor. Hendrickson has been out since aggravating his injury back in Week 8.
