Quinshon Judkins’ injury update is a win that the Cleveland Browns had to have coming off the win over the Raiders
Cleveland couldn’t afford to lose Quinshon Judkins and they aren’t going to with the latest injury update.
The Cleveland Browns have stayed relatively healthy lately in terms of avoiding injuries to key contributors. Cleveland is coming off a 24–10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, a game in which they were without QB Dillon Gabriel and DE Alex Wright — their only notable injured players who did not play in that game.
The Browns did endure a brief scare on Sunday against the Vikings when rookie RB Quinshon Judkins went down and was checked by trainers. Fortunately for Cleveland, it turned out to be nothing serious, and they received good news on their rookie bell cow.
Quinshon Judkins dodges injury against Raiders
“I think he came out the first time because he fell on the ball,” Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said on Monday. “And then the independent doc called from up top, brought him out, checked him, and he was good to go and was cleared again this morning. So, he’s good to go.”
It appeared Judkins simply had the wind knocked out of him after falling on the ball, followed by a precautionary concussion evaluation after his head hit the ground on another play. The rookie from Ohio State escaped without any real injury and will be ready for Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers back at home. Judkins scored two touchdowns and added 47 rushing yards in the win over Las Vegas. The second-round pick is now up to 667 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games this season.
Judkins has been Cleveland’s clear top back since returning at the beginning of the season after missing time due to off-the-field issues. He’s well on his way to a 1,000-yard rookie campaign, and avoiding injury against the Raiders only strengthens his chances of reaching that milestone.
