Cowboys receive important George Pickens injury update with big implications ahead of Thanksgiving matchup vs Chiefs
The Dallas Cowboys are trending toward having George Pickens on the field.
The Dallas Cowboys released its second injury report of the week on Tuesday, but it’s technically the first from an actual practice. As they gear up for a quick turnaround to face the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving, the team didn’t practice on Monday.
So even though Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens was listed as a non-participant on Monday, it pales in comparison to Tuesday’s update. Pickens participated in practice despite a knee/calf injury, a good sign for his chances of playing on Thursday. He was a limited participant. Pickens was banged up during his 146-yard performance against the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to multiple reports, Pickens arrived at practice after the stretching portion was over. He took part of individual drills during the portion of practice open to media. On Sunday, Pickens described the injury as a “little contusion.”
“Just a little contusion like a bruise,” Pickens said. “I ended up coming back in, catching a slant, nearly scored. So it’s not too bad, but in the moment, you always want to check and make sure.”
There’s no doubt the Cowboys need Pickens on the field to feel better about their chances of taking on the Chiefs. With him on the field, they can win any game. He’s already up to 1,054 receiving yards (second-most in the league) and eight touchdown catches (third-most in the league). With him trending toward playing, the Cowboys’ chances of beating KC immediately look better.
