Win or lose, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is one of the select players media always interviews in the locker room following games Dallas Cowboys games. But after Sunday’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles, Lamb didn’t speak to the media.

Moments earlier, Lamb had one of his worst games of the season. With multiple drops and mistakes, it made sense for him to stay away from the media.

When players returned to the facilities on Monday ahead of a short week, Lamb wasn’t available yet again. But on Tuesday, Lamb finally addressed reporters. And it’s safe to say, the wait for him to break his silence was worth it, as he delivered an honest message about his performance that fans are surely going to appreciate.

CeeDee Lamb takes accountability: ‘We know the problem’

Lamb was asked about his communication with Cowboys QB Dak Prescott amid struggles like Sunday’s, and the All-Pro wide receiver didn’t sugarcoat things one bit.

“Just find ways to get better,” Lamb told reporters via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “You want to be solution oriented. You’re not really dwelling much on the problem. Granted, we know the problem, I need to catch the (expletive) ball.”

Of course, Cowboys Nation wants to see results on the field but it’s always promising to hear a player like Lamb take full accountability of a bad situation. Indeed, it’s Lamb’s inconsistency catching the ball that was a problem on Sunday. No one doubts his ability to get open, run routes, or track the football, which he did at elite levels at times against the Eagles. But in two combined games against Philadelphia, he’s dropped seven passes. It’s hard to imagine the Cowboys would have lost if he had made his catches.

According to Prescott, his message to Lamb was all about staying cool in good moments and bad: “Hey, don’t press. Let’s not let’s not ride the highs and the lows. Even if you’ve had a bad play or whatever, maybe let it go. You’re a hell of a player, and you know it.”

The Cowboys, who have publicly said they’ll target Lamb plenty on Thanksgiving, need No. 88 to bounce back quickly. They’ll take on the Kansas City Chiefs as home underdogs on Thursday, and it won’t be an easy matchup. But if Lamb, Pickens, and Prescott are clicking at the same time, they’re an unstoppable force.
