With the Kansas City Chiefs being 6-6 on the year, most of their star players are not having their best year right now. However, the one who may be having his worst statistical year is defensive tackle Chris Jones. He’s had some amazing games on film, but also some bad ones. Statistically, he’s had a terrible year.

Per Next Gen Stats, Jones has posted his lowest pressure rate since at least 2018 this year. His 8.8% is the lowest among Chiefs defenders who rushed at least 150 times, and his 3.8% quick-pressure rate is his lowest across any season since 2018. The stats just aren’t there.

But don’t worry, he hears the talk. He knows what’s at stake. Jones knows what needs to be done over the final five games of the season. He recently retweeted a video that made you think he was about to go crazy. That’s sending a scary message to the rest of the league.

Chris Jones and the Chiefs are ‘dialed in’

This week, the Chiefs play the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football. Over the last few years, the Texans have had a terrible offensive line. The last few weeks, their offensive line has been good. So, don’t think of the game as an easy get-right game for Jones. But Jones will be ready.

In fact, everyone will be ready.

“I think everyone is dialed in,” Jones told reporters on Thursday. “Everyone’s committed to doing whatever it takes to finish this season strong. It’s about being consistent day in and day out and transitioning to the game. Just not one game; the next game, too. So, for us, (if) we can stay consistent as a team, we can finish strong.”

The Chiefs cannot lose another game this season. They could win out and still not make the postseason, as they will need help from plenty of other teams. And, they will need as much help as they can get from Jones.
