Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman celebrates at the 90th annual Sun Bowl game against Oregon State on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023, at El Paso, Texas.

Notre Dame football had another massive recruiting victory on Monday when they landed elite 2027 Raleigh (N.C.) Cardinal Gibbons cornerback Xavier Hasan over an elite offer list. That included over finalists Ohio State, Tennessee, Florida State, and UNC, among others. Rated inside of the top-50 overall players in the 2027 class, this is just yet another example of the elite recruiting tandem that Marcus Freeman and Mike Mickens are.

The impact in the 2027 class won’t be stopping anytime soon. Here are my predictions for the next five commitments in the class for the Fighting Irish. This isn’t necessarily in order, but they are players that I feel good about right now.

Predicting next Notre Dame commitments

WR Quentin Burrell – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel

At 6-3 and 175 pounds, Burrell is the type of boundary wide receiver that the Fighting Irish need more of. With Burrell being a top-50 recruit right in their backyard, he is a player that the Irish need to close on effectively. From a player, academic, and cultural perspective, Burrell seems to fit Notre Dame perfectly. He is a player that the staff has had a high opinion of for a very long time, and the Chicago standout has reciprocated that interest. There isn’t a firm timeline on making a decision, but the Irish are frontrunning.

DT Brayden Parks – Chicago (Ill.) Brother Rice

A bigger interior presence at 6-3 and 305 pounds, Parka brings the impact size that Notre Dame has been pushing hard for. Like Burrell, Parks is a local talent who seemingly fits the program perfectly, so they need to close on him. Parks is a dominant performer for Brother Rice, and his upside is immense. While defensive tackle isn’t a position you typically see play early for Notre Dame, I believe Parks has the talent to do so. He is that talented a player.

TE Seneca Driver – Danville (Ky.) Boyle County

If you remember former Notre Dame defensive back Tony Driver, this is his nephew. The younger Driver is one of the more talented tight ends in the 2027 recruiting class. At 6-6 and 235 pounds, he has the straight-line speed and catch radius to make a ton of huge plays in the passing game. The Fighting Irish have been the assumed leader for the Kentucky native for some time now, but it is a loaded tight end board. A couple of talented players need to make a decision pretty soon to solidify their spots.

CB Tavares Harrington – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel

On the quest to lock down the Chicagoland area, Harrington is very much an important part of that quest. At 6-3 and 175 pounds, he is a very long cornerback, which Mike Mickens tends to hold in high regard. There is a chance that Harrington also ends up inside at safety with his natural size and physicality. With how much the Fighting Irish values versatility on defense, Harrington should fit right in. Notre Dame has been in a good spot for some time now. Closing the deal down the stretch would be big for the Chicago standout.

WR Julius Jones Jr. – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas

If that name sounds familiar, yes, he is the son of the former Notre Dame running back of the same name. The Fighting Irish are fighting an elite group of talented football programs, and they need to battle until the end, but I like where Notre Dame is currently. While Jones is a smaller wide receiver at 5-10 and 170 pounds, Jones is a technician who is also dynamite after the catch. He would be a great addition if they can close on him.
