The Buffalo Bills are once again looking to enter a contest more than a little banged up. Now, the important thing to note is that the Bills did not practice on Thursday, but gave an estimation of where players would be if the team did a full run-through.

Nevertheless, it gives fans a reason to be concerned heading into a huge matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.

While the biggest name on the list will remain quarterback Josh Allen, he’s spoken on several occasions that he’ll be a full-go for the contest on Sunday. Still, seeing the reigning MVP and franchise quarterback on any list related to injuries is terrifying.

Several key playmakers were missing practice

The injury report came and went, and it said pretty much the same thing that Wednesday’s did, leaving the Bills Mafia with more questions than answers with only one more day of practice on Friday to really get an idea of where the team is at.

Defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, tight end Dalton Kincaid, tight end Dawson Knox, defensive tackle Jordan Phillips, safety Jordan Poyer, and kicker Matt Prater were all unable to practice.

The offense might be taking a hit against the Eagles if both starting tight ends aren’t able to suit up. Though like Allen, the team said for Kincaid that they are just taking it easy in terms of his injury and that he, too, should be able to compete on Sunday.

It’s looking like, potentially, safety Jordan Hancock might get his first NFL start if defensive back Cam Lewis and Poyer are unable to go. Hancock shined in the preseason, and fans had been clamoring for him to get some reps early on in the season when the safety room had been struggling.

Not all bad news on the injury front

While the injury report had more bad news than good, one bright spot was that defensive end Joey Bosa had upgraded to limited after being a DNP on Wednesday. Bosa has been a force on the defensive front, and having him back on the field is paramount for the team’s success.

Rounding out the injury report were cornerback Taron Johnson and linebacker Shaq Thompson, who were both listed as limited on Thursday. Both safety Cole Bishop and running back Ray Davis were full participants as well.

A clearer picture will come later on Friday, but as it stands, Buffalo may once again be forced to lean on its depth in a high-stakes spot. Whether it’s next-man-up performances or key veterans gutting it out, the Bills will need answers fast with the Eagles looming and a little margin for error.
