NASHVILLE — Cam Ward’s rookie season with the Tennessee Titans has been far from ideal. The 2025 No. 1 overall did, however, pass a milestone in the franchise’s history during Tennessee’s home finale against the New Orleans Saints.
Ward is the club’s first rookie to surpass 3,000 passing yards in a single season.
Titans need Cam Ward to continue a promising trend
Ward’s super power in 2025: his availability.
He’s the only quarterback to have started 100% of his team’s offensive snaps to date. Ward has survived this season despite being the most sacked player at his position through the first 16 weeks of the season. It is about as much as could be asked of him, given how difficult his surroundings have consistently made things.
“I think I’ve gotten more prepared each and every week,” said Ward. “The beginning of the year is the hardest because the defense doesn’t put out all the pressures like that just because of the amount of games. Then you just got to continue to watch film on the DC’s background, see what he can do at certain times of the game. But I think every week, I get coached up to handle each and every pressure, whether it’s in the call or whether I have to get something off my head. Then just continue to put the ball in my playmaker’s hands.”
Ward had two touchdown passes in the first half against New Orleans, extending his streak of games with multiple passing scores to four consecutive.
