The Alabama Crimson Tide has incurred yet another loss following its disappointing showing against the Indiana Hoosiers in the Rose Bowl.

The exodus has come from both sides of the ball and even the kicker position, but Saturday night featured the first, but potentially not the last, departure of a 2025 starter, and it ensures that the wide receiver and return unit will look very different in 2026.

Wide receiver Cole Adams to enter transfer portal

Adams was primarily featured as a return specialist for the Crimson Tide, starting as a punt returner for most of the season. He logged five receptions for 71 yards and a TD as a receiver in 2025. His departure marks the fourth from the WR room, as he joins Jaylen Mbakwe from yesterday to enter the transfer portal.

Of course, the team is likely to lose Germie Bernard to the NFL Draft, and the same may be said of Isaiah Horton. Sources have told A to Z Sports that Alabama will look to add a premier veteran talent and a younger option in the transfer portal to complement Lotzeir Brooks and Ryan Williams, who are expected to be the headliners in 2026.

Regardless, with this much turnover already going on and more on the way, it’s safe to assume that Alabama’s WR depth and return unit will look very different in 2026.
