JACKSONVILLE — All that talk about quarterback Cam Ward’s iron man streak came to an end in Week 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It happened after Ward’s second rushing touchdown of the season to open the game’s scoring.

Ward writhed in pain on the ground, jogged to the blue medical tent then left with training staff into the locker room.

Worst case scenario for the Titans

Ward’s injury designation was announced as a right shoulder ailment and his return ruled initially “questionable.” Ward was later ruled out at the end of the first quarter, officially ending his rookie season.

On a first-and-goal play from the Jacksonville 7-yard line, the Titans called a designed quarterback run. Ward took the ball to the right side and dove for the end zone, reaching the ball across the goal line for the score. A pile of Jaguars players landed on him and crunched his shoulder in the process.

It is a deeply unfortunate situation. Ward had played 100% of his team’s offensive snaps so far this season. He was the only NFL quarterback to have done that in 2025. Back-up Brandon Allen took his first snaps of the year after the injury, starting Tennessee’s second drive of the game.
