It appears Chas Nimrod’s time of playing football inside Neyland Stadium may not be quite done after all.

The former Tennessee Vols wide receiver is following his former head coach to Auburn. Nimrod, who transferred from Tennessee to USF after the 2024 season, entered the transfer portal last month and has now signed with the Tigers, per On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos.

Former Tennessee and USF WR Chas Nimrod has transferred to Auburn

The move is a very logical one, as Nimrod reunites with new Auburn head coach Alex Golesh. Nimrod and Golesh were together at South Florida for the 2025 season. Nimrod posted a stat line of 23 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns in seven games this year for the Bulls, all of which were career highs.

Nimrod and Golesh will come back to Knoxville this fall as visitors, as the Auburn Tigers are set to play at Tennessee on Oct. 3.

Nimrod played for Tennessee from 2022 through 2024, but he redshirted in 2022 after appearing in only two games. His role expanded during the 2023 season for Tennessee after injuries to Bru McCoy and Dont’e Thornton, Jr. ended their seasons prematurely. However, he was never able to take advantage of the opportunity.

His biggest moment as a Vol came in Tennessee’s 33-27 win over Kentucky in 2023. Nimrod pulled down a 39-yard touchdown, his only catch of the game and his longest career grab as a Vol. In three years with the Vols, Nimrod totaled 29 catches for 315 yards and one score.

Tennessee fans will hope that trend of spotty production continues when the Tigers take the field against the Vols on Oct. 3.
