Tyler Warren receives some great news following his rookie season with the Colts, and it shows how bright his future is
The Colts have zero regrets taking Tyler Warren in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, as the TE proved the team’s investment right during his rookie season.
Taking a tight end in the first round of the NFL Draft isn’t worth the investment to multiple decision makers across the league, because it’s not viewed as a premium position.
The Indianapolis Colts are typically a team that I would guess views the position in that light, which tells you how impressed they were with Penn State’s Tyler Warren last offseason.
The Colts used the 14th pick on Warren in the 2025 NFL Draft, making him the second TE selected in the class after the Chicago Bears selected Colston Loveland. It’s safe to say both showed the rest of the league why they were worth a first-round investment.
Colts TE Tyler Warren named as a Pro Bowl replacement for Raiders star Brock Bowers
Warren finished his rookie season with 76 receptions, 112 targets, and 817 receiving yards, all of which led rookie TEs this season. He also scored five times in the end zone. Many thought he did enough to make the Pro Bowl outright, but ultimately the spots went to Brock Bowers of the Las Vegas Raiders and Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs.
He won’t have to miss the event after all, though, as it’s now been announced that he will replace Bowers, who opted out due to an injury. One year in, and Warren will already be experiencing his first Pro Bowl. The Colts believe they found a special player who will be a core member of their roster as they look to the future.
Warren now becomes the third Colts player to represent the team in the Pro Bowl for the 2025-2026. The season didn’t go as the team had hoped, as they lost seven straight games to finish outside of the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season. The team’s future is full of uncertainty, but one thing the Colts know for sure is that Warren will be a major part of it.
